ANNIV-ETCS'ARY HOLIDAY S Monday and Tuesday, 2nd and 3rd Nov. PRIZES will be shot for at the Target, Napier, by Militia and Volunteers, on the following conditions, and under the superintendence of Captain Withebs, Adjutant Militia and Volunteer's : — I. — Any Militiaman and Volunteer of the Province can compete on paying an entrance fee of ten shillings. II. — Four shots to be fired by eaoh man at two hundred yards. lll.— Three Prizes will be given as follows — Entrance monies, along with any subscriptions received, will be divided (after deducting the expenses, including cost of ammunition) as follows — The best shot to receive one half the amount collected ; the second best to receive one third j the third one sixth of the total amount. IV — None but regulation rifles issued by the Government to be used. <" V. — Men to fire either standing or kneeling ; — no other position or artificial rest allowed. VI. — All competitors to place themselves under the orders of Captain Withers, who has kindly coneented to take charge of the firing. VII. — Firing to commence at ten o'clock on Monday, the 2nd day of November. Entrances to be made, and entrance money to be paid to the Honorary Secretary. No entrance can be made after half- past nine on Monday morning. VIII. — The rotation of firing and other questions wili be decided by Captain Withers on the ground ; and all competitors are requested to be present at half-past nine, . to enable the arrangements to be completed.
