Entrance £1 ; half the entrances to go to the winner, and the rest to the second horse. For all horses bona fide the property of, and ridden by, Aboriginal Natives. 1 mile, heats. Catch weights. Post Entries. Waiptikurau Stakes, Of £3 3s. each, with £35 added. For all horses. 3 miles. Weights — 3 yrs., Bst. j 4 yrs., 9st. j 5 yrs., 9st. 81bs. ; 6 yrs. and aged, lOst. Hurdle Race, Of £25, added to a sweepstakes of £2 2s. each. For all horses. Heats, 1 £ mile. Over 4 leaps 3ft. 6in. high. Weights, 3 yrs., 9st. 91bs. ; 4 yrs., lOst. 131b5, ; 5 yrs., list. 71bs. ; 6 yrs. - and aged, list. 12lbs. Consolation Stakes. A handicap sweepstakes of £2 2s. each, with £15 added. For beaten horses. 1$ mile. To be handicapped by the Stewards, or whom they, may appoint. The above will be the amounts of the stakes provided the subscriptions admit of it ; other* wise, a proportionate reduction will be made. RULES. 1. No horse to be entered for any of the above races (but the Maori race) except by a subscriber of at least 2 guineas to the Race fund. 2. The second horse to save his stakes in any race where three or more horses start. 3. The saddling bell for the Maiden Stakes will ring at a quarter to twelve, and the horses will start at twelve precisely. 4. Entries, stating the names and ages of the horses, and the colors of the riders, and enclosing the amount of the entrance fee, to be delivered to the Secretary, at the Tavistock Hotel, Waipukurau, between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m., on the 19th February. 5. Applications will be received by the Stewards from persons wishing to erect refreshment booths on the Race Course. The fee will be 3 guineas. 6. All disputes will be settled by the Stewards, whose decision shall be final. 7. Three horses to start in each of the above races, or the public money will not be given. 8. One Shilling admission will be charged to each person at the gate leading to the Race Course. The money so collected to go to the Race fund. T^T OTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that by a Deed ~13l dated on or about the 11th day of October, 1861, and made between John Highfield Wilkinson, of Waipawa, Storekeeper, of the one part, and James Meliss Stuart and John Gibson Kinross, of Napier, Merchants, of the other part, the said J. H. Wilkinson did assign to the said J. M. Stuart and J. G. Kinross all the Stock in Trade, Household Furniture, Fixtures, Effects, Goods, and Chattels, being in and upon the store occupied by the said J. H. Wilkinson at Waipawa, and also all Book and other Debts, and all Sums of Money, and Securities for Money due and payable to. him, the said J. H. Wilkinson. Notice is Mtrtfter Given that the said X M. Stuart and J. G. Kinross have taken possession of all Property comprised in the said Deed, and hereby caution all persons icom. dealing with* the said J. H. Wilkinson in, respect thereof, and all Money due to the said J. H. Wilkinson is hereby required to be paid to the said J. M. Stuart and J. G. Kinross. Dated this 7th day of February, 1862. J. N.
