IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of An Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, in- ; titutled " The Provincial Elections Act, 1858." I, Frederick John Tiffen, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Waimarama, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ bearing date the twenty-second day of November, 1861, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, an Election -will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Waimarama on the 14th day of December, 1861, and that the Poll (if necessary)*will be taken on the 19th day of December, 1861, and the state of the Poll declared on the 23rd day of December, 1861.
