Pohui— Mr. William Marshall. — o THE COMMISSION appointed by His Excellency the . Orovernor for the purpose of receiving articles (especially those which are likely to become staple articles of export)— the produce and manufacture r>{ the Province of Hawke's Bay, for exposition in the approaching International Exhibition of Agricultural and Industrial pursuits,— respectfully invite the public to assist them in obtaining, samples and specimens of Wool, Plax, Timber, Minerals, Fossils, and productions generally of the Province. Her Majesty's Commissioners have fixed the 31st March as the latest period at which goods can be received in London. It is therefore absolutely necessary that all articles intended for exposition should be forwarded to the Local Commissioners by the 25th October 1861. The Commissioners arc perfectly aware that a new Province like Hawke's Bay— still in its infantile state, and m which the products, except wool, are merely nominal, and the manufacture of articles not yet tried — cannot for some time successfully / compete with the older Provinces. Still it behoves the public to make some exertion towards forwarding a contribution, however small. The mode of dressing and improving the products is very important. Any information on this subject will be valuable. A label should be attached to every article intended for exhibition, describing locality where produced, and by whom. No article can be admitted to the Exhibition except forwarded through and by the Commissioners. Prices may be affixed to any articles exhibited. ALEX. KENNEDY, Hon. See. P.
