June 10— Pole Star, schooner, 60 tons, Sullivan, from % Auckland, with 4 casks brandy, 2 casks rum, 2 casks and 3 cases whiskey, 1 cask old torn, 1 tierce, 2 halftierces, and 1 box tobacco, 4 bales leather, 15 cases gin, 60 bags flour, 68 bags sugar, 5 boxes soap, 40 bundles wire, 10 tins nails, 4 tins paint, 25 packages, 8000 feet timber, and sundries. Abteb a long cessation of arrivals from the north, we were gratified on Monday morning by the appearance of no less than three of the regular traders between Auckland and Napier— all reporting severe weather on , the passage. The Pole /Starletb Auckland on the 20th ult., and has been 23 days between the two ports; She had baffling winds for the first nine days j after which she encountered a strong gale from SJE., continued six days — during which tune the vessel was hove to»^ On the 4th inst. Capti Sullivan was obliged, in order tb ease the vessel, to throw overboard the deck cargo; consisting of 30,000 shingles. At, noon the same day a sea, struck, v her which threw her oh her beam ends, but she righted in a minute or two. Oh the gale abating, she worked : into Hicks* Bay, where she was joined by the Zephyr : and Eliezer, and they resumed the voyage in company. Had light variable winds the rest of the way. - , .
