The Bazaar in aid of ike Presbyterian
Chttech, we are happy to say, has proved more successful, than the most sanguine could have anticipated. It has realised a sum of more than £250, which will prove a most important aid to the Building Fund. The result is a striking proof of what can be done by the fair sex. The idea of the Bazaar originated with a lady ; the contribu-1 tors have been chiefly ladies ; and the arrangeroeritsf have been almost whoHy carried out by ladies— ' with what success we need not repeat. It is stated that, henceforward, the Military command in New Zealand is to be made separate and distinct from that of Australia, and that a considerable force will, in future, be maintained. : '" Several letters, addressed to officers of the 13th, 44th, and 85th regfcs., have arrived by the January mail. The 13th were in Bengal, 44th in China, and 85th at the Cape of Good Hope.
