GARDEN CALENDAR FOR NOVEMBER
If dry weather prevail, the watering of lately removed plants and newly sown seeds will be indispensable. Sow French beans and scarlet runners. Plant, out vegetable marrpw, ... cucumbers,. pump- v kins, water melons and tomatoes; and for the first few days after removing they should be shaded and constantly watered. Cabbage and cauliflower may be transplanted, and additional sowings of each, made. Stop the fruiting shoots of vines 5 pinch out, or rub off, all superabundant young buds and shoots of fruit trees, especially of vines, peaches, and nectarines. Destroy suckers of raspberries if you wish for fruit. Frequently water strawberries. Tie up lettuces. Destroy all weeds. In gathering green gooseberries leave every 6th or so to ripen.
