NOTICE TO MARINERS.
Pencarrow Lighthouse, Cook's Straits, Nevj Zealand. Notice is hereby given that on and after the first day of January next, a new light mil be exhibited on Pencarrow head, at the entrance of Port Nicholson (Wellington) Cook's Strait, New Zealand. The new light will be of the second order (Catadioptric system), with, eclipses at intervals of two minutes ; it will be 420 feet above high water mark, and visible in ordinary weather at a distance of 30 English miles. The following are the magnetic bearings and distances of the site of the new Lighthouse : — From Baring Head, north-west by north, Z\ miles. From Sinclair Head, east by north $ north, 6Jmiles. From Outer Eock of Barretts' Reef, south-east by east $ east, 1 mile. Prom Steeple Rock, south-south-east, 2 miles. 'From Cape Campbell, north-north-east i east, . 33 miles. The Lighthouse is in Latitude 41 ° 22' 0" south. Longitude 174° 51' 15" E. In consequence of Saturday next being Christmas day, the Hebaid will be published on Friday. Advertisements and communications for publication will therefore require to be left at the office one day earlier than usual.
