The same "Gazette" (of date 3rd inst.) which contains the proclamation that we are a separate province, contains copy of a commission under which the following gentlemen are appointed justices for- the Province of Hawke's Bay : — A. Alexander, E. S. Curling, Donald Gollan, J. C. L. Carter, John Curling, Henry Russell, James Anderson, J. V. Smith, A. G. Newman, Walter Ogilvie, and J. B. Ferguson,. Esquires. — It also makes the announcement jthat H. S. Tiffen Esq. has been appointed a commissioner of Crown Lands under the "Crown Land Ordinance," sess. 10, No. 1 ; aud that C. J. Pharazyn Esq. of Wellington has been removed from the commission of the peace. The Auckland papers present little of interest. We observe that on two occasionslately Auckland has been supplied with late English news through the columns of the " Herald. " It is reported, we hope on good foundation, that the East Coast is to enjoy the full benefit of inter-provincial steam communication, and that the services of the " White Swan" will be retained with that object.
