ARRIVAL OF THE APRIL MAIL.

By the "Salopian," on Tuesday morning, we received the April English and Indian mail, received in Wellington, 18th inst., 62 days from England per "Jeauie Dove."

The English news is not marked by any incident of importance ; the wool market, we are sorry to perceive, was in a depressed condiiion, and commercial matters in general bore rather a gloomy aspect.

The Indian news is not so encouraging as last advices led us to anticipate. The British had been repulsed in attempting to storm a fort of the enemy; while the approach of warm weather would, it was feared, give the rebel sepoys a great advantage over our troops,
