A Russian man-of-war was lost between Revel and Cronstadt, with three Admirals and 1400 souls on board. The Bth October was observed throughout Great Britain as a day of fast and humiliation. The Rev. Mr. Spurgeon preached in the Crystal Palace to nearly 24,000 persons. £676 was the amount collected. The total amount subscribed at home for the India Relief Fund is nearly £100, 000.
