Per Wonga Wonga, for Wellington — 63 bags maize, ( 200 bushels,) for W. B. Rhodes and Co. The harbour of Napier was, during the past week, a scene of unusual animation- — one vessel being no sooner on the berth than another made her appearance. The Erin, Ann, Sea Serpent, Dolphin, Wonga, and Salopian, have thus successively arrived, all reporting heavy weather on the coast, no doubt the gales usually experienced at this season of the year. The whole of these vessels have discharged from the ship on to* the beach, and have thus incurred no detention. The steamer is commanded by an experienced and very obliging captain, fornserly master of the Lady Grey. She is said to be paying remarkably well, so much so, that the Company purpose buying her a consort. Her services have been solicited by the General Government, as well as by the Provincial Governments of Otago and Canterbury ; ' and all demands cannot be supplied. We were happy to recognise an old face on board in Mr. Brigden, so long and favourably known as engineer. The Wonga may be expected here again about the end of this month. The Salopian sails on Monday for Auckland, chartered, we believe, by Capt. Munn who, with characteristic enterprise, is about again to try the Northern market with a cargo of sheep. We wish him success, and doubt not that, as on former visits, he will avail himself of the opportunity to do good for Ahuriri.
