Mr T. M. Ellis, manager of the Ilawera branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, has received notice of his transfer on promotion to Cromwell,
where he will take over the managership of that branch. His successor is Mr L. Y. Smith, accountant at the
Newton (Auckland) branch. He will
arrive in Hawera on November 18 and 0 Mr Ellis will leave a week later.. Mr Ellis arrived in Hawera about eight years ago from Stratford, where he had been in charge. Since lie has been here he has taken the keenest interest in local activities, and he will be greatly misspd in many directions. He
is vice-president of the Chamber of
•Commerce, a vice-president of the Hawera Aero Club and is also a member of the Hawera Eotary Club.
