Jealousy is now to be treated as an illness, like measles. This week the first clinic in the world, for its cure Avas opened at Vienna under the direction of Dr Wilhelm Stekel, nerve specialist and psycho-analyst. Dr Stekel explains his plans as folloavs : “Many crimes are the result of jealousy. Such cases can he prevented Avhen the jealous man or avoman consults an expert.

“There are two sorts of jealous people—those who are conscious of it and admit it, and those who will not confess to themselves that they are jealous. The latter are the most dangerous, but even they can be cured merely by a talk.” Already fourteen women have applied for treatment.
