STATE OF COURTS DISCUSSED (From Our Own Correspondent) A committee meeting of the Waverley Tennis Club was held on Tuesday evening to discuss the condition of the courts, and it was decided to postpone the opening of the new season until Saturday, November 16. The programme for th 6 tournament was discussed, and tho events will be decided by tho end of the week.
It was decided that a deputation wait on the AVaverley Domain Board at its monthly meeting next Thursday, with an application for the painting of the pavilion. A “ladies’ day” is to be held on Tuesday afternoon, November 12, when two tennis courts will be open for play, as well as the croquet lawns. During the afternoon the question of catering during the tournament is to be discussed, and it is proposed to form a ladies’ committee to- work in the interests of the tournament.
