However, the croquet lawns will he ready on Saturday next and the opening will be held that day. Considerable discussion took place in connection with the Taranaki championships to be held at Waverley on January 6,7, 8 and 9, and it was decided to form a working committee as soon as possible. The programme for th 6 tournament was discussed, and tho events will be decided by tho end of the week.

It was decided that a deputation wait on the AVaverley Domain Board at its monthly meeting next Thursday, with an application for the painting of the pavilion. A “ladies’ day” is to be held on Tuesday afternoon, November 12, when two tennis courts will be open for play, as well as the croquet lawns. During the afternoon the question of catering during the tournament is to be discussed, and it is proposed to form a ladies’ committee to- work in the interests of the tournament.
