RAIN MAKS THE OPENING. ENTRIES EXCEED SQOO. (By Telegraph—Press Association), PALMERSTON N., To-day. After heavy rain overnight, showery conditions prevail for 'the first of the Manawatu and Wpst Cbast A. and (P. Association’s golden jubilee spring show. Entries exceeding 5300 have been obtained. The quality of the exhibits, especially live stock, is on the highest scare and special efforts have been made to make this fiftieth anniversary show a record one. The association has succeeded in several directions, and only improved weather is required lip till the ' concluding day on Saturday to make it most outstanding.
