The general inference is that a rather intense depression has been crossing the Dominion, the lowest pressure this morning being south of the Chatham Islands, but a slight secondary depression was located over the Cook .Strait area. The forecast is for strong southerly" winds of gale force, at places, hut gradually moderating. The weather will be cold, changeable and squally, with further rain, but slowly improving.
