RIVERLEA SCHOOL AFFAIRS
DROP IN AVERAGE; ATTENDANCE (From Our Own Correspondent) The monthly meeting of the Riverlea School Committee was held on Tuesday evening, when there were present Messrs. E'. Chapman (chairman). W. R. SjaveiL J. W. Kenyon, I>. Gibson, M. F. Voullaire (secretary) and Miss W. B. Chapman (head teacher). Miss Chapman reported a roll of 51 and an average attendance of only 46.1, which was not at all satisfactory. Some children were not attending as regularly as they should. Members considered that there was n Q reason ior cnildren not to. attend regularly even if there were a few wet days as the roads were good and none of them had a great distance to The action of Messrs. Gibson and ouVllairo in having the lawnmower overhauled \v.» confirmed. Mr Voullaire reported having attended the last meeting of the Eltham Dental Clinic Committee and the work done there. It was resolved to send a letter of appreciation to Mr George Kenyon for the splendid, collection of New Zealand woods, which he had presented to the school.
