EUCHRE PARTY AT MANAIA

CHURCH FUNDS BENEFIT (From Our Own Correspondent) The euchre party and dance held last evening in the Alanaia Parish Hall in aid of the church funds was a pronounced success, the tables being well filled with euchre players, while a large number w'ere engaged in dancing. The floor was in excellent order and the music was supplied by the Valencia Orchestra, extras being played by Mr AI. Whalen. Aliss K. Burrell (Hi games), Miss Ivinsella (10i games), Air R. Harris (11 games) and Air H. Gamlin (10J games) were the winners in the euchre tournament. A guessing competition was won by Airs R. Hopkins. A splendid supper was provided by the ladies’ committee, Alesdames H. Sutton, J. E. Wells, AI. Brown, TV’. Bourke, E. Winter and B. Vine. Rev, Father Breen returned thanks to the ladies’ committee and to all present for their attendance. Air L. Hughes officiated as AI.C. PERSONAL Miss AI. Ryan is an inmate of Craigholm private hospital.
