COSTS OF TRANSPORT

BENEFITS FROM THE ACT CBy Telegraph—Press Association. 7 NELSON, Nov. 5. The chairman of the No. 7 Transport Licensing Authority, Dr. S. A. Gibbs, in a statement, says the benefit of the Transport Act to the public and road service operators is incontrovertible, the costs of transport being greatly reduced. The benefits, he says, are still one-sided as only road services are dealt with. The full value cannot be realised until all forms of transport, road, rail, air or sea, are included and without undue favouritism to State-owned railways or other services.
