LEAGUE NOW A REALITY
British Fleet in Mediterranean Had Strengthening Effect ANXIETY TO MUSSOLINI PERSISTENT RUMOUR OF PACT (United Tress Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Received 2.15 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Nov. 5. The League of Nations, recently almost a mockery, now has become a reality, said Mr Winston Churchill at Hull. The real explanation was the British Fleet in the Mediterranean', where its presence had raised the wholo life of the League to the higher plane and had made the greatest experience of future government by law into a reality, which was a far greater cause of anxiety to Sjgnor Mussolini than the Abyssinian army. The “Guardian’s” Paris correspondent says an impression persists that England and France are endeavouring to re-introduce Germany into /the League. Important delegates at Geneva ax-e said to have tentatively discussed the question last week. M. Laval is considering the possibilities of a British-French-German agreement.
