TARANAKI CHAMPIONSHIPS NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNEY Seventeen limits wore staged on the opening night of the Taranaki amateur wrestling championships at New Plymouth last night. They will be continued this evening and the finals will be held on Saturday niglit. Only three divisions, the feather, light and welterweights, were decided, each, however, being brought to the final stage. The finalists for Saturday night are:—Featherweight, T. Howe and C. Conway; lightweight, R. Fake and C. Watson; welterweight, 11. A. Adlam and A. Cullen. Air J. Beasley was referee. Betails are:—• FEATHER WEIGHT G. Rowe 0.0 beat Copeland 8.13 by two falls. C. Harhan Singh made Walker submit in the sixth round with the Indian whiphold and Walker •'Veiled the contest early in the last mend with a Boston crab. Walker did not seem very fit and the bout was uninteresting.
