Mrs H. R. Wood, Auroa, is an inmate of the Manaia private hospital.

Mrs M. Langlands is an inmate of the Manaia private hospital.

Mrs Wyborn arrived from Wellington yesterday and is the guest of Mrs C. H. Washer at “Brent Knoll.”

Mrs W. O’Callaghan, who arrived by the Akaroa in Wellington last week and has been visiting her father, Mr Bussell, in piiristchurch, is expected to arrive in Hawera to-dav.

Mesdames H. 31. Caselberg. C. O. Pratt, E. Shaw (New Plymouth), H. S. Ale* William, H. AL Besley, B. (P. Baigent, A. Smith, H. H. Bramwell, Misses B. Ha'rkness (New Plymouth) and A. Kemp were Mrs Cl. J. Bayley’s guests at tea on Wednesday. The hostess wore a frock of moss green mntalasse with deer beige trimmings. The floral decorations were carried out in shades of pink.

Anemones, irises and sprays of flowering cherry were arranged in large bowls when Mrs H. R. Kemp invited friends to tea on Thursday. Those present were Mesdames G. J. Bay ley, F. W. Horne.r, Fogg, N. After nine years as Taranaki provincial Girl Guide Commissioner, Mrs D. K. Mo,wson (New Plymouth) has resigned. Aliss F. J. Harris (New Plymouth), divisional commissioner for North Taranaki for 18 months, has also tendered her resignation. Both resignations have heen accepted bv headquarters, hut so far no new appointments have heen announced.

Wearing a smart afternoon gown of black crepe claine faintly pin-striped in green and white and trimmed with a large tri-coloured shoulder bow, 3lr.s W.
