Ingleside at Pihama

Visit of Hawera Entertainers

An Inglesicle organised by Mrs Allan was held at Pihama on Friday evening, when the entire programme was given by a party from Hawera and was very much appreciated. Members of the Hawera Pipe Band opened' the concert and the following items were given: Song, Mr J. Hall; Highland reel, Miss Doreen Nairn and pupils; recitation, Mr D. McCormick; song, Mrs O. Gannaway; dance, Miss Nairn; pipe duet, Messrs Campbell Bros.!; song, Miss Claris; Irish jig, Master S. Nairn; recitation, Miss Gane; song, Mr J. E. Crompton; duet, Miss Claris and Mr Hall; reel, Miss Nairn and pupils. Mrs E. A. Taylor played the accompaniments. Mr D. Holmes, sen., thanked the performers and the Rev. Wood (Opunake) on behalf of the Presbyterian Church thanked Mrs Allan for her effort to raise funds. Mr McCormick replied on behalf of the performers and said that credit was due to Mr J. R. Nairn for arranging the programme. Posies were hand-

ed to the performers, after which a supper was served by Mesdames Allan, R. Cathie, J., S. Tosland, A. Campbell, J. Wilkinson and D. Holmes.
