SOUTH ISLAND WHEELBARROW TRIP DISTANCE OF 403 MILES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, To-day. Messrs. Lukey - and Schofield, who ' recently made' , a wheelbarrow trip from Auckland to Wellington, leave for the South Island on Monday to do a trip from the Bluff to Christchurch, a distance of 400 mies, starting at the Bluff Post Office on September 23.' Mr Lukey has wanted to make the trip harder than the previous one and aims to do 20 miles a day instead of 16, arriving at a town each night. The longest stretch will he from Oamaru to Waimate, a distance of 30 miles. A detour will be made, from the main road to include Wvndham.
