Play in South Taranaki Championship Continued FIRST ROUND COMPLETED RESULTS OF MORNING PLAY Following the .completion of the two qualifying rounds at the Hawera Golf Club’s links yesterday afternoon, the South Taranaki women’s championship and the Fairfield Handicap were commenced this morning, when the first round in each event was finalised. The weather was again unpleasantly cold, although the wind was not as strong as it was yesterSay.
There were no surprises in the play this morning in either the championship event or the Fairfield Handicap. Mrs Cook, who headed the qualifying rounds yesterday, returned the best card in the first Bogey handicap this morning with a score of one down. She defeated Miss A. Wills 4 aip and 2 in the championship event. Mrs W. G. Walkley defeated (Miss G. Syme 3 up and 2. Wanganui play r ers who were •considered to have chances in the •championship event, Mrs Young and Mrs Russell Grace, each won her match this morning.
