Aberhart was sworn in as Premier of the Social Credit Government, taking over with the Treasury empty. Mr Aberhart, appealing to Mr. R. B. Bennett f° r a 12,000,000 dollars’ loan to meet bond issues falling due in November, secured an assurance that the Dominion Government will treat Alberta “fairly.” The Evangelist Premier has designated as the theme song of social credit, “O God Our Helxi.” Wrch provincial savings bank certificates no longer redeemable, the market for Alberta bonds lias vanished.
