BRIDGE AT PAREMATA
ACCESS TO PLIMMERTON DEPARTMENT ACCEPTS TENDER (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, To-day. All obstacles concerning the road bridge at Paremata to give direct access to Plimmerton by road have now been overcome, and the Public Works Department has accepted the tender of M. G. Templeton for £9787 9s 6d. This does not include the steel, which is being supplied by the department. Work on both the bridge and the road to lead from it into Paremata will be commenced immediately. The bridge Will f>e ready* within twelve months and the road' has been declared a main highway. The bridge will be of nine spans on concrete pillars, and there will be 22 feet of road with 4ft. footways on either side.
