Miss Patterson, of Wanganui, was Mrs A, K. Ey son’s guest during the week.

Miss Lorna Chapman, who has been Miss K, Coleman’s guest for several months, leaves to-morrow on her return to Napier.

Mesdames J. M v Collins, A. K. Fvson, A. M. Young, It. H. Lecce, H. S. AlcWilliam, H. AT. Casclherg, W. J. Nicholson, Misses Patterson (Wanganui), and Harkness were Mi's C. J. Bayley’s guests at tea on Wednesday afternoon.

Wearing a dainty frock of brown and white checked organdie girdled i with brown satin. Miss Kathleen i itiickeridge entertained several friends at bridge on Thursday evening. Miss Ruth Buckeridge was frocked in Water-lily green crinkled ninon voile patterned with small black flowers. Vases of spring blooms and pussywillow were arranged in the room. Miss Molly Black scored the highest points and the other players were Misses R. Pease, M. Washer, J. Powdrell, B. Ryan, B. Powdrell and H. Carson.

Another farewell party given for Miss Molly Black on Thursday afternoon was held at Mrs W. D. Powdrell’s home when Miss E. Buist and .Miss J. (Powdrell were hostesses. There f were six tables of bridge in play and Miss Mary Bright won a hidden number prize, the consolation prize going to Miss Alison Kemp. The large room was bright with sprays of deep pink japonica and prunis blossom. The guest of honour was smartly attired in a swagger suit of navy blue wool afgalaine, and gold ottoman lame blouse and a small navy velour hat. l Miss Buist’s frock was fashioned in a rich chocolate brown silk matalas.se with petal beige trimmings, and Miss Powdrell chose a stylish tunic frock of blackberry and deer beig6 novelty checked tweed over a blackberry angora tweed skirt. Miss Powdrell’s sister, Mrs J. Valentine (Eltham) wore a neat frock of black marocaiii with very full sleeves of black and white plaid elephant crepe. Mesdames H. W. Jones, C. S. Robb, W. A. Fend all, L. Norman, J. J. Pease, P. J M. Coleman (Eltham), C> Gardner, Misses M. Black, R. Pease, A. Wills. L. Hunter, A. Kemp, M. Bright, S. Lovell, J. Hunter, C. Tonks, K. Coleman, L. Chapman (Napier), M. Hawken:. B. Ryan, M. Washer, P. Lovell, and J. Lennon were others present.
