TRISTRAM CUP MATCH D. KNUCKEY WINS AT ELTHAM. Th Eltham Golf Club’s competition for the Tristram Cup yesterday was won by D. Knuckev with a net score of 143 over 36 holes. His gross scores were 83. and 86. The best gross scores in the competition were returned by L. Gibbon, whose cards were 80 and 79. The following were the scores .over
OPUNAKE DEFEAT MANAT A During the week-end Opunake defeated tne Alanaia golf -team at Opunake by nine matches to four. iiie results of the morning play, Opunake mentioned first, are as lollow: Curidy and ETaser heat Hobday and Walker 7 and 6. Mclvor and Watt lost to Instone and Garner 2 down.
Feaver and Burton heat Christie and Spooner 4 and 2.
Bowater and Thomas beat Ryan and McDiarmid 6 and 4.
Hammond and Harding all square with Crompton and W. Ryan. Sharpe and Lewis beat Scannell and Aieuli 7 and 6.
Barraclough and Morris heat Hughes and Baker 3 and 2. The afternoon games resulted: — Cundy and Mclvor lost to Hobday and Instone 1 down. D. Burton and Bowater lost to Walker and Garner 2 down. Feaver and Thomas lost to Christie and M. Ryan 4 and 3. Griffin and ‘Hammond heat McDiarmid and Spooner 5 and 4. Sharpe and Burton beat Crompton and Scannell 4 and 3, McPherson and Foully beat Ryan and Hughes 5 and 4. Harding and Morris beat A Baker 4 and 3. HARDLEY CUP FINAL. Playing the final for the Hardle.\ Cup at Mangatoki G. Court defeated W. Williams by 7 up and. 5 to play. After the first 18 holes in the mc> ing Court was 7 up, and he had a fairly easy win. His morning row., was 92 and the afternoon’s 94. G. Court, two down, also won a bogey match played in (conjunction with the cup. Davies and Bolger, challengers, heat Glover and R. McGregor, holders, -1 and 2 in a challenge lor the Taylor buttons. They also won a further challenge from L. Pease and H. Linn 1 up.
PATFJA LADIES’ CLUB WEDNESDAY FLAG MATCH On Wednesday next a flag match will he played by members of the Patea Ladies’ Club in two divisions (handicap arid non-handicap), and a trophy will be given for the best score in each.
