Alton Branch

At the Alton brancTi of the W.D.F.U. monthly meeting Airs Tayier presided and there was a large attendance. A demonstration on dressmodelling was given by Alesdames Masters and Lester (Patea). The competition for the month was, the best article made from one yard of cretonne, the winners being Miss Y. Hall, first with a laundry bag, and Mrs Illingworth, second with an apron. During the afternoon Airs Tajyler fareweiled Airs Alasters, who is leaving Patea to reside in Stratford. On behalf of the branch Airs Tayler asked Airs ATasters to accept a. small gift as a mark of esteem and in recognition of the many services. rendered te the W.D.F.U. during the last four years. iMrs Foreman also presented Mrs Alasters with a-silver tea service from the ladies of tnc Alton distiictOn rising to respond, Airs Alasters was accorded musical honours. Afternoon, tea was served by the hostesses, Alesdames Hurley and Black.
