Quadrangular Schools’ Tourney at Hawera and New Plymouth TWO SOUTH ISLAND SCHOOLS rearrangement of fixtures (Special to “Star. ) NEW PLYMOUTH, To-day. The Taranaki Rugby Union has been successful in arranging a quadrangular schools’ tournament at New Plymout i and Hawera next month as P ar ° its jubilee celebrations. The teams will be: New Plymouth Boys Hi 0 h School, Auckland Grammar School Christchurch Boys’ High and Otago Boys’ High Schools. The ° ri S*“ a * posal included Te Ante and not Otago Bovs’ High. . ' , The Taranaki Rugby Union desired the inclusion of a South Island team and Christchurch agreed to come l their annual match with Otago could be played' here. Otago agreed to this, with the result that it was necessary to have two South Island teams or none. This required a re-arrangement with Te Aute, and the annual match with this school at New Plymouth will be played on a date before July 24, yet to be arranged. The programme of the New Plymouth team provided fox the annual match with Auckland Grammar being played _at Auc - land, but in view of the jubilee celebrations Grammar agreed that the match he played at New Plymouth. The tournament programme provides for two matches at New Plymouth on Saturday, August 24, four teams taking part, two games at Hawera on Wednesday, August 28, and the filial two games at New Plymouth on Friday, August 30. The teams will leave for their homes on Saturday. The Taranaki Rugby Union has undertaken heavy expense m bringing three visiting teams to New Plymouth and it is hoped to billet them. Each party will he of twenty members.
