’PLANE CRASHES INTO SEA

DEATH OF PILOT OFFICER. WITNESSED BY HUNDREDS. (British Official Wireless.) Received 1.30 p.m. to-day. RUGBY, June 27. Hundreds of holiday makers on the Sussex coast saw an Air Force machine strike the sea and sink off Selsey hill. A lifeboat was launched and recovered the body of Pilot Officer N. D. Ashton, the only occupant of the machine.
