FAREWELL AT KAPONGA. PRESENTATION TO MR. AND MRS. HARPER. (From Our Own Correspondent.) •Members of St. Mark’s Church, Kaponga, tendered a complimentary social on Tuesday evening to Mr and Mrs J. Harper and family, who are leaving for Tataraimaka, shortly. There was a good attendance at the Parish Hall. In making a presentation to Mr Harper of a pocket wallet, Mr R. D. Dagg expressed regret at the family severing connection with the district and wished them good fortune in their newhome. Mrs Harper was the recipient of a handbag from Kaponga friends and on behalf of the Kaponga Croquet Club Mrs J. .Dawson made a presentation of a gold croquet brooch. Mr J. Ramsay, on behalf of Palmer Road residents, voiced their regret at the departure of such excellent neighbours. A piano duet was contributed bv Misses M. Evans and I. Brewer. Miss A. M. Stone gave elocutionary items. Dance music was played by Mrs Evans and Mrs R. Pascoe gave an extra land Mr R. Webb was <M.C. Competitions resulted: Advertisements, Miss B. Allen and Mr J. Harper; wedding, Airs R. Webb; menu, Mr G. Cox; balloon, Miss Brewer and Mr J. Harper. The Kaponga Girl .Guides’ Committee held a successful flag “500” afternoon on Tuesday. The winning table comprised Mesdames J. Guy, R. E. W illiams, A. Betts and J. 11. Tyack.
