LORD ROTHERMERiE’S SKETCH. LONDON, June S. “Herr Hitler is the most prominent figure in the world to-day, with his master mind magnetising the whole l field of foreign politics.” That is the striking estimate made by Viscount Rothermerc in an article in the “Daily Mail.” Lord Rlothermere goes on to say that Herr Hitler is a “practical mystic,” a rare combination of a dreamer and a. doer. Like Oliver Cromwell, Joan of Arc and Maliommod, he draws inspiration from hidden light net shared by liis fellow men. Herr Hitler is the incarnation of the spirit of the German race, which aims at restoring complete sovereignty in internal affairs, and. again making the nation a first-class world Power. Continuing, Lord Rothcrmero says that Herr Hitler’s, presence reveals intense earnestness. He never converses casually, never relaxes his at titude except when listening to music, which he loves.

However calm and impassive is his manner, one instinctively* feels that beneath the surface there smoulders a fiery purpose dominating his whole existence. He possesses magnetic eyes, reflecting a soul conscious cf the magnitude of the task he has undertaken. The Leader-Chancellor’s simplicity I of dress—usually a plain brown uni- | form—is embellished only by an Iron Cross, which indicates that he considers his task a. militant crusade. He will never become a stereotyped statesman, says Lord Rothermerc, and lie detests bureaucracies and routine. Like all supreme leaders. Herr Hitler is a lonely man, but- his love of children and of clogs further reveals •sentiment underlying his conviction that he is a man with a divinely-ap-pointed mission.
