LONDON, June 17. In the House of Commons Brigadier General Nation, inquired what action fcad been taken to put into elfcct the principal recommendations of the in-ter-departmental committee on migration, particularly dn relation to the creation of two advisory bodies to replace the Overseas Settlement .Comjnittqe. Mr J. H. Thomas, Secretary for Dominion Affairs, replied that action would be considered when the opinions pf the overseas Governments, had been ascertained.
The Prime Minister, Mr Stanley Baldwin, answering Mr George Lansbury’s inquiry about Ministers whose duties were not announced, said Mr Anthony Eden would be specially concerned with the League of Nations work. He believed his appointment would materially strengthen Britain’s contribution to international affairs in the direction of the maintenance of world peace. Lord Eustace Percy would concentrate on questions of policy free from departmental responsibilities. No conclusion had been reached regarding their salaries, hut the estimates would be submitted later.
