Ball at Opunake Owing to many counter attractions the ball held on Friday night under the auspices of the Opunake branch of the Women's Division Avas not as well attended as in the past. Howj ever, those present had a most enjoyable time. The hall Avas gay Avlth decorations carried out in blue and gold streamers and greener} - . slusic was supplied by Hooker's 5 ferrymakers Dance Band, whilst supper extras Avere played by 51rs C. Alalcolm and slrs G. "Bay 1 is. Novelty dances held during the evening Avere Avon as follows: slonte Carlo, slr McHannigan and partner; a new noA-elty dance held in Opunake for the first" time, Mrs Gunson and partner. The duties of masters of ceremonies were carried out by Messrs Stark and A. Allan. Always noted for its delicious suppers, this year’s function Avas no exception. Those responsible in this department Avere the division members, and they are to be congratulated on the excellent arrangements made--sluch of the credit for the function must go to Mrs J. O’Sullivan, the social secretary.
