Mrs 11. Wells and sliss .Molly AYells spent the week-end with 51rs Geoffrey Bootten, Glenn Road. slrs A. W. King is spending a holiday at Okato for the jubilee celebrations. Alrk King, who- was 51iss Queenie Andrews, is one of a family of thirteen, all of whom received tlieir schooling at Okato. Mrs Simpson, Oeo, has been the guest of her cousin, slrs Rushin, sliss Griffin, 51r H. Sanderson, and Mr R. Smith have returned home from a motor trip through the Wellington districts 51iss Ruby Donald, of slorrinsvilie, is renewing old friendships in South Taranaki and will be visiting slrs Fred Smith this week-end. Mrs John Williamson, Skeet Road, is the guest of slrs 51artin, Inaha. Mr and Airs Fred Kilpatrick and their son are leaving to live in the Otorohanga district. Another very successful euchre evening was held at Auroa on Saturday. Dance music was supplied by slrs H. It. Wood and slr Wood was master of ceremonies. Prizes were Avon as follows: Ladies, Mrs Jack Campbell 1, s£iss SV. Dickson 2; men, Mr H. It. Wood 1, Messrs J. Granville, J. Symes, JYAIcKav and Marsden tied for second prize. In the play-off Mr slarsden annexed the prize. Auroa girls played q, match against the Eltham basketball team and Avon by 12 goals to 10. The following were the local scorers:- Vera Rushin, Esme Sheerin, Joyce Lee (5) and Annie O’Dea (5). The Auroa girls’ hockey team played » match against Ro\-ers and Avon l*y five goals to nil. The following AVere the local scorers: Jean Millar (3), Vera King (2).
