Newspapers commend Sir Philip Game's appointment as Chief Commissioner of t]io Metropolitan Police Force, recalling bis war career and his conflict with Mr J. T. Lang, former Premier of New South Wales. “Sir Philip Game brings his own qualifications to the post,” .says the “Times.” “As Governor of Now South Wales ]ie showed the qualities of tact and firmness which the police and the public have come to expect in the chief administrator of Scotland Yard.” The “Daily Express'” says it is understood that Lord Trenehard will return to the Royal Air Force to take control of expansion and reorganisation. Sir Philip Game, formerly air vicemarshal, was appointed Governor of New South Wales in 1930, relinquishing the position early this year. He was born in 1876 and entered the Royal Artillery in 1895, rising to the rank of major before the war. He joined the Rloyal Air Force during the war, became air vice-marshal in 1922 and commanded the Air Force in India from 1922 to 1923. Lord Trenehard was air marshal before accepting tbe Police Coimnissionership in 1931.
