DAIRY BOARD SALARIES
Members’ Honoraria Held To Be In No Way Excessive GREATER AREA REPRESENTED IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, To-day. At *a ward meeting held at Dunedin under the auspices of the Dairy Board, several speakers referred to the question of the board’s honoraria and emphatically stated that in their opinion the amount paid in the first instance of £3OO was in no way excessive in view of the important activities the board was called upon to undertake and the greater area the members had to represent. Qne speaker expressed the opinion that it would have been better if the Government had fixed the honoraria, in which case he felt sure it would have been at least double that fixed by the board meml>ers themselves, and more in keeping with the remuneration allocated by the Government in recent appointments to other boards.
