FARMERS’ UNION AFFAIRS
MR. AY. A. SHEAT NEW PRESIDENT. TRIBUTES TO MR E. J. BETTS. Mr AY. A. Sheat, Opunake, was yesterday elected president of ,the South Taranaki provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union. Eulogistic, reference was made to the work of the retiring president, Mr E. J. Betts, who was defeated by Air Sheat. On the motion of Mr Sheat it was decided to forward J Air Betts’ name to the Dominion executive for consideration as a life member of the union. Mi- Betts in reply thanked members for their co-operation and paid a tribute to the work of the secret ary ) Air E. K. Cameron. Other officers elected were: A'icopresidents, Afessrs. E. J.
