JUBILEE BALL

Otakeho Celebration

The Otakeho. Hall Committee held a ball on Monday night in honour ol the King’s Jubilee. The hall presented a most attractive appearance, the walls being decorated with flags and pungas, while blue and white streamers were suspended from the centre of the hall. Hooker’s Merrymakers Orchestra supplied the music and Mr Stuart Gordon played extras. The duties of Master of Ceremonies were carried out by Messrs. J. Walker and A. Bayliss. A Monte Carlo dance number was won by Mr O’Brien and partner. Those in charge of the supper arrangements were Mesdames S. le Fleming, L. Mudford. Bayliss, JCampbell and W. Surgcnor and Miss White. Among those present were Alosdrtmes H. Putt, black maroeain; W. Surgcnor lemon taffeta; Bayliss, green satin; Mudford, floral frock; J. Campbell, black georgette; Misses W bite, check frock; M. McQueen, lemon chiffon velvet; A. Putt, Marina blue satin; Maureen Burke, green windswept satin; Betty AlcOullum; check taffetas; J. Joyce, maroon maroeain; W. Bighorn, white satin ; S. Glengarry (Pihama), blue organdie; E. Walker, green maroeain; E. Riley- (Pihama), floral georgette; M. Jenkins, black satin; N. Bayliss, blue georgette; J. Mourio, lemon taffetas; W. Stone, maize velvet; L. Mourio, floral georgette. Otakeho=Kaupokonui Miss Jessie Joyce is spending a few days with her aunt, Mrs E. Putt. Miss M. McQueen has returned from a visit to Paten. Miss M. Madgwick is the guest of Mrs "A. Walker. Miss P- Crompton leaves on Wednesday to spend a few days in AA Tanganui.
