Since 1895 the Company has recognised the vital importance for the Dominion as a whole of the well being and progress of our primary industries—wool, wheat, dairying, fruit and many others. The success of these industries is bound up intimately with the vital matter of transport. To meet this need, £5,000,000 has been expended in New Zealand and Australia in plant and equipment, during the past few years—national bulk distribution facilities which have given the man on the land, as well as the city dweller, the benefits, in economy and convenience, of this modem method of marketing. The Company has never beljeved in the policy of trading at its own front door. Year in and year out, in good seasons and bad, in profitable and unprofitable communities, it has steadfastly lived up to its ideal of complete nation-wide service. In this service it also contributes to New Zealand revenue amounting to £850,000 each year in rates, taxes, customs duties, etc., paid directly to Government, municipalities and other public bodies. The spirit of loyalty and mutual service which permeates the Vacuum organisation is reflected outside to the public, and it is in this spirit of friendliness and sympathy with individual problems, and a human touch in business which have been among the fundamentals in the success of the Company. We have been friendly neighbours of yours f<?»’ 40 years, performing national service in the commercial and economic life of the community. Proud of the reputation we have earned, conscious of our responsibility to you, we are striving constantly to make each day's service to you better than the performance of yesterday. p a m : X\\s' ; X< ii H'iimi'l m m m m gags VX&r mmm m gp&i m m mm m mmm m : : s' J '■ : : s s-s v s' (INCORPORATED IN AUSTRAUAI
