FOUR KILLED IN CAR CRASH
JACKY COOGAN’S ESCAPE PLUNGE INTO EMBANKMENT (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). SAN DIEGO, May 4. Four were killed—John Coogan, senr., Junior Durkin, a child actor, Robert Horner (Los Angeles) and Charles Jones, foreman of the Coogan ranch —late on Saturday when Mr Coogan’s car plunged down an embankment and crashed into a pile of rocks, four miles east of Buchman Springs and 59 miles east of San Diego. Jackie Coogan, the film star and a son of Mr Coogan, was injured, but not seriously. The younger Coogan said tlie car was forced from the highway by an unidentified machine travelling in the opposite direction. He was in the rumble seat, but he was not thrown out when the machine overturned four times. Mr Durkin and Mr Coogan were thrown out, their bodies crashing against huge rocks lining the embankment.
