Many Taranaki Residents are Included in the List FOUR HAWERA RECIPIENTS The names of the following Taranaki residents are included in the official list, published in full, on page 9 of this issue, of the recipients of the King’s Silver Jubilee Medal given as ■a-personal souvenir <of the occasion: Hawera. Major B. W. H. Smart. —Second in command, 2nd" Wellington Regiment Q.A.M.R. Sergeant J. Henry.—Police sergeant stationed at Hawera. Mr H. G. Dickie, M.P.—Member for Patea of the Coalition Government. Elected in 1925 as Rleform member for Patea and successfully defended seat' in 1928 and 1931. Mr L. O. Hooker. —Secretary to the Hawera Winter Show Company. Mr G. A. Duncan.—Formerly secretary to the Hawera Dairy Company and now of Wellington. Member of the Council of Agricillture and a member of the recent Commission of Agriculture. Eltham. Sir Walter Carncross, M.L.C., and Lady Camoross. —Sir Walter was elected to the Legislative Council as Taranaki provincial district member in 1924. For many years he has been Speaker. Mr O. A. Wilkinson, M.P.—He successfully contested the Egmont seat at a by-election in 1912 and at the general elections of 1914, 1928 and 1931. He temporarily retired from politics in 1919, hut was elected as an Independent in 1925. Mr 1. J. Bridger.—Mayor of Eltham for over 10 years and actively interested in local body and charitable activities over a long period. Patea. Mr A .T. Christensen. —South Taranaki local body member for many years and chairman of the Patea Harbour Board for over 20 years.
