DECISION TO AMALGAMATE

• OLD PUPILS’ ASSOCIATIONS. HAWERA IT TO II SCHOOL. Amalgamation was decided upon by the Old Bovs’ Association and the Old Girls’ Association of the Hawera Technical High School at the annual meetings held at the school last night. It was felt that this was flic best procedure to cement relations between past and present pupils. The meetings were held separately and the decision was reached at a conference held later in the evening. Mr D. Wills was elected the new president on the motion of Mr C. Sturrock, seconded by Mr L. Halbert. The following committee was elected to confer regarding a constitution for the new body and report to a general meeting at an early date: Messrs Sturrock, Halbert, E. Velvin, 11. Barker and Misses J. Catchpole, K. Brown, A. McLaren and D. Garnett.
