AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS
Quiet Campaigns in New South Wales and Queensland LARGELY RADIO ADDRESSES LITTLE CHANGE EXPECTED (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Received 10 a.m. today. SYDNEY, To-day. The general election campaigns in New South Wales and Queensland are going along quietly. The polling day in both States is on May 11. The fact that party leaders are reiving largely on wireless addresses, eoupieVl with extensive newspaper advertising, as a means of reaching the people has enabled them to deliver their messages with far greater decorum and effect than hitherto. So far as New South Wales as concerned, it is not expected that there will be a marked swing away from the Steven’s Government, although it is regarded as inevitable that a few obviously Labour seats captured at the last election in special circumstances will on this occasion revert to the Lang Party.
Mr Forgan Smith, Labour Premier of Queensland, confidently anticipates a renewal of office.
