Miss Watt Honoured

The Kakaramea Hall was the scene of a very pleasing function on Tuesday afternoon, when a large number of friends from Alton, Patea, Kakaramea were present to- do honour to Miss Irene Watt, who marriage takes place to-morrow. The bride elect wore a smart black coat, with a handsome fur collar, black hat, eye veil and accessories to match. Mrs Watt was attired in black satin, black hat, and fox fur. Miss Melva Sharp presented Miss Watt with a dainty posy amidst applause, after which the following items were rendered: Piano solo, Mrs A. Carey; recitation .Miss McCarthy; songs, Airs McDonald and Mrs Masters; recitation, Miss McDonald; songs, Mrs A. Carey and Miss 0. Hodge. At the conclusion of -the programme Mrs Meharry, on behalf of those present, wished Miss Watt every happiness and prosperity in the future and asked her to accept a handsome silver and crystal salad bowl with servers and a beautiful crystal vase, with the best wishes of all present. Miss Watt returned thanks. Afternoon tea was served, after which “Aul'd Lang Syne” was sung.
