MANAIA

R.S.A. EXECUTIVE MEETS. FAVOURABLE CREDIT BALANCE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The executive of the Manaia R.S.A. met on Tuesday evening, those present being Messrs L. G. Walters (chairman), F. G. Welsh, Mead, Anton, Fendall", Craig and Dr. Davies. Apologies were received from Messrs McDiarmid and McLeod. The credit balance in all accounts was £4O 14s 3d, while liabilities were £1 os. The total of membership was 98.

The secretary reported that subscriptions are now coming in fast and that anothe'r 40 members should become financial by April 30. It was mentioned that the ladies’ organisation was doing good work and the quota of poppies (600) should be disposed of by Anzac Day. •Correspondence was read to and from the Pensions Department regarding an ex-service man member at present in the Hawera Hospital. The Pensions Department disclaimed any responsibility. The executive decided that their opinion was that the trouble was caused by war injuries and that further action should oe taken. It was decided that the Anzae Day parade would fall in at the tManaia Do-

main at 1 p.m., co-operating with the public committee and that all members be requested to wear medals and poppies.

The secretary was authorised to ob tain medal ribbons for members.
