Ideal weather prevailed for the commencement of-trie Kaponga seven-a-side Riugby tournament this' morning. Fifteen teams took the field, and in the first round several outstanding exhibitions were seen. The teams include Clifton A, the winners last year, who had little difficulty in accounting for Kaponga O in the initial game. There was a large attendance of the public. Results of the first round, are: Hawera 6 v. Waimate A B. Kaponga A 3 v. Clifton B 0. Cambridge 8 v. Waimate B 3. Stratford -Old Boys 15 v. Opunake B 0. Stratford 13 v. Okaiawa A 6. Clifton A 11 v.
